We call ourselves Christians or followers of Jesus. Many of us would explain that we have a personal faith, we’ve been born again, and Spirit-filled. These are all fine descriptions of what it is to have a genuine faith. But did you know that the first generation of believers were called followers of the Way? They lived their lives according to the teachings of Jesus. And for them it wasn’t about making life better, it was about being better. It was about loving God better. In this message pastor Roger challenges us to consider the implications in our own lives. What if you began to see yourself as a follower of the Way?
UPDATE ON coronavirus
WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2020
Dear Sarasota Community,
In consideration of the Covid spikes in our area and the Florida Surgeon General's specific appeal to limit groups to 50, we have closed our campus to onsite gatherings until it's prudent to gather. Our services will be online as always at https://sarasotacommunity.online.church.
That said, to whatever degree you are comfortable, consider inviting someone to come worship with you.
(Check out my blog for a step-by-step process of how to do that.) But I want to be clear: I'm NOT asking you to increase your social activity. I'm just inviting you to be intentional about including worship as part of your current level of social activity.
We will continue to monitor the situation with a continued goal of doing our part to slow transmission of the Coronavirus, and to be a hopeful yet cooperative presence in the Sarasota community. We pray that these simple steps serve that purpose.
That Sarasota might be filled with love, joy, and peace...
